History

PT BHUMI RANTAU ENERGI secured a mining business license or “IUP” from Tapin Regency Administration in South Kalimantan. The Firm’s coal mining concession is located in Rantau District, about 123 km to the northeast of Banjarmasin, the capital city of the province. The area is accesible by car. The firm started exploration activities in 1997, the firm has found 21 coal seams which are located in the Warukin Formation.

We started the exploration of economic coal in 2001 with a concession of 2,096 hectares and 100 million tons of coal reserves.

In the region, Tapin District, South Kalimantan, PT Bhumi Rantau Energi, operated one of the coal mines and became one of the suppliers in the cross-world thermal coal market for 20 years.

In the environment, we performed reclamation activities which have restored and improved the quality of the environmental function as well as ecosystem based on its purpose in the mining area.
